Heather Ford BA(hons) Graphic Design; PGCE

Heather was born in Yeovil, Somerset and for as long as she can remember she has always loved drawing and painting portraits. Following a long and successful career as a graphic designer in London, during the 1970s and 80s, she then became Head of Art at Burlington Danes in Hammersmith.
Heather is now based back in Somerset where she paints, holds tutorial workshops and exhibits. For more information on her workshops click here
She has also exhibited her large portraits abroad and in 2023 she held a solo exhibition at the prestigious Stal Gallery in Muscat, Oman. For more exhibition details click here
Most of Heather’s portraits are made up of a variety of icons and images that represent each individual, thus giving an insight into who they truly are. The intricate icons are symbolic and significant giving the viewer more knowledge and understanding of the subject matter.
Her recent artworks include a commission to paint Isambard Kingdom Brunel for a creative project in collaboration with BAFTA Nominated Richard Digance.
In more recent times Heather has used her skills to become an influencer at both schools and by giving general talks on how art links with the changing world.
